Expanded NATA Accreditation for GAFTA

We’re excited to announce our new accreditation ISO/IEC 17020 Inspection Body facilitated by the National Association of Testing Authorities Australia (NATA) which is required by GAFTA (Grain and Feed Trade Association) to be certified as an accredited superintendent for bulk and container consignments. Our Inspection team have been working very hard to meet this goal and we would like to congratulate them for this valuable achievement.

Staff Profile – Matthew Pearce

Matthew Pearce is a marine surveyor at CIS, specialising in bulk liquid cargo surveying. We had a conversation with Matthew to find out about him and his work.

How did you get into the marine surveying field?

I started off quite young, while in high school I was running around sampling tanks, doing the physical stuff, while my father co-ordinated the loading supervision. Spare time was spent in our laboratory familiarising myself with the traits of Australia’s agricultural commodities. As time went on I realised I thrived among the industry’s challenges and built on the experiences gained and to further expand my knowledge I have completed a Diploma of Marine Cargo Surveying through the International Institute of Marine Surveying.

During this time I have become a member of the Australasian Institute of Marine Surveyors (AIMS), the professional body representing marine surveyors in Australasia.

Our Exciting New Website

After a lot of work we are pleased to reveal the latest design of the CIS website.

The new design incorporates current trends such as colour gradients, large format images and new typography. Significant changes have also been made to the navigation to make the website a better overall browsing experience. The CIS branding has also been adapted to better complement the new contemporary look.
