Control Union Australia merges with CIS Australia

We are pleased to announce that Control Union Australia, part of Royal Peterson and Control Union, has formally merged with Commodity Inspection Services Australia (CIS).

From their roots in agricultural inspection, Control Union has been operating for more than 100
years and provides commodity inspections, certification, risk management and logistic services in
the food, animal feed, textiles, minerals, forest products, biomass, biofuels and oils and gas sectors.
Like CIS which is family owned, to this day Control Union continues to be a privately owned family
company operating in more than 70 countries and employing more than 4,000 people.

Dirk Teichert, Board Member at Royal Peterson and Control Union, said: “This merger marks an
exciting time for us and the industry, as we continue to diversify, strengthen, and grow our offering
to our valued customers in Australia. CIS has a well-earned reputation for providing the highest quality independent inspection services and laboratory analysis to the agricultural industry in Australia, with a philosophy of upholding integrity, honesty and respect. We are delighted that they have now joined forces with Control Union Australia”.

Mathew Conoulty, Managing Director of CIS added “The merger opens up
many exciting
opportunities for CIS and Control Union. When combining our services we
greatly expand what we
can offer to markets in our region”.

As from 1st April 2022, the two parties will operate under the new name of CIS Control Union Australia Pty Limited.
